RAJBIRAJ, Nov 30: Paddy production has increased in Siraha and Saptari districts this year.
Officials said that timely rainfall, favorable weather and reduced impacts of diseases on paddy plants resulted in good yield of the paddy.
Officiating Chief of Agriculture Knowledge Center in Siraha, Kisundev Yadav, shared that Siraha district recorded 162,000 metric tonnes of paddy yield in a total of 54,000 hectares of land.
Similarly, Saptari produced 189,000 metric tonnes of paddy this year. Both the districts produced equal three metric tonnes of paddy in one hectare of land.
Last year, the productivity of paddy was recorded 2.45 metric tonnes of paddy in one hectare, according to Yadav.
