BIRATNAGAR: Chief Minister of Province No. 1 Rajendra Kumar Rai took oath of office and secrecy today.
Chief of the Province SomnathAdhikari ‘Pyasi’ administered the oath of office and secrecy to CM Rai in accordance with Article 168 (2) of the Constitution.
Also today, Chief Minister Rai constituted the Council of Ministers in accordance with Article 168 (9) of the Constitution. The cabinet comprises Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning IndraBahadurAngbo, Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development HimalKarki, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law KedarKarki, Minister for Social Development JayaramYadav and Minister of State for Social Development BishnuTumbahamphe.
Chief Minister Rai administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected ministers and state ministers.
First cabinet meeting of Rai administration revokes all political appointments
The first cabinet meeting of the newly-appointed Chief Minister RajendraRai led administration in Province 1 held this evening scrapped all the decisions and political appointments made by the outgoing province government led by Bhim Prasad Acharya.
Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning of Province 1 IndraBahadurAngboo said that the decisions would be taken for the process to revoke after a review as the appointments made by the Acharya administration were not in line with the constitution.
Likewise, the cabinet meeting of the Province 1 held this evening decided to give scholarship to one student each from economically poor, Dalit, marginalised community from all 137 local levels of Province 1 to study technical education.
Minister Angbo said that a decision was taken to develop a procedure for the protection of endangered cultures.
