Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and United States of America’s Secretary of State Antony Blinken have held telephone talks on Tuesday night.
The two during the telephone talk dwelt on issues such as poverty alleviation, development projects and climate change among others, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
PM Deuba tweeted, “We appreciate America’s continuous affirmation for Nepal’s progress for the past 75 years. We also discussed Russia’s attack on Ukraine and Nepal’s affirmation towards Ukraine’s sovereignty.”
On the occasion, the US Secretary of State Blinken said that Nepal’s decision to take forward US-aid grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) would play an important role for materializing projects such as transmission line and road connectivity thereby creating jobs, ensuring infrastructures and uplifting the lives of Nepalis.
Twitting about the conversation, Mr Blinken has stated that both of them discussed about the Russia’s unprovoked attack and our support for Ukrain’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He had further said, “We will continue to work closely together on economic development and regional challenges.”
