Death toll in Kalikot blast hits two

Kalikot: Death toll in the Kalikot explosion has reached two. Latest victim of the blast has been identified as four-year-old Saraswati Rana.

She died at the Karnali Provincial Hospital, Surkhet, said Chief District Officer Ram Hari Sharma.

Another victim identified as four-year-old Jharana Thapa died at a local health institution.

Three others injured in the blast are receiving treatment at the hospital, he said.

An improvised explosive device exploded today at Tilagufa Municipality-10 in Kakikot district, leaving two children dead and injuring three others.

Home Minister Khand directs rescue efforts, treatment for those injured in Kalikot blast

Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has directed the home administration to do its best in rescue efforts and providing treatment for those injured in a blast at Ranabada of Tilagufa Municipality-10 in Kalikot district.

Saving lives of citizens is main responsibility of the state, the Ministry stated. Following the direction, a helicopter of the Nepal Army reached Kalikot and rescued the injured people to Surkhet, said Chief District Officer, Surkhet, Ram Hari Sharma.

An improvised explosive device went off after children hurled stones at it while playing, leaving one dead and injuring four others, he said. The incident took plat at 8 am today.
