Kathmandu, April 12: This year’s Secondary Education Examination (SEE) has been completed from today (Wednesday). Bishnu Narayan Shrestha, Controller of Examinations of SEE, informed that the examination, which started simultaneously across the country from March 31, was completed peacefully except for sporadic incidents.
According to Shrestha there were 2036 examination centers in 77 districts and one in Japan. “Except for sporadic incidents, the examinations have been completed peacefully in all the examination centers”, Shrestha said. According to him, 484,227 candidates participated in the examination this year.
In order to participate in this year’s SEE examination, out of 516,591 students who registered in class 9 in 2078 BS, when they came to class 10, 32,364 students decreased to 4,84,227. A total of 14 children also participated from Japan. Controller Shrestha informed that they participated in the exam from an educational institution in Tokyo where Nepali curriculum is taught with the permission of the Japanese government.
The maximum number of 106,959 students from Bagmati province and the least number of 41,329 students from Karnali province participated in the examination. About 15,000 students from the technical stream, 2,982 students from Sanskrit and 50 visually impaired students participated in the examination.
The office is planning to publish the results of the SEE examination in the third week of Ashad, 2080 BS (July 15th).
