Kathmandu, May 10: The second meeting of the National Assembly has been put off without entering business after the protest of major opposition NC’s lawmakers.
As the NC had warned of stir after the lawmakers representing different parties put forth their views in the first meeting- the first one of the budget session- Chairman Narayan Dahal postponed the meeting for 15 minutes.
As soon as the second meeting began, the NC lawmakers left their seats in protest prompting Chairman Dahal to allow NC lawmaker Krishna Bahadur Rokaya for his view.
He reiterated party’s stand that they would not allow operation of the Assembly till a parliamentary probe committee was formed on embezzlement of deposits in cooperatives.
As the NC lawmakers continued obstruction, Chairman Dahal postponed the meeting till May 14.
