Kathmandu, May 19: The meeting of the National Assembly (NA) has been postponed till tomorrow. The meeting of the upper house of the Federal Parliament scheduled for 1.15 pm today was deferred to 3.15 pm.
Federal Parliament Secretariat’s assistant spokesperson Dasharath Dhamala said the meeting has been postponed for tomorrow as it could not convene at the stipulated time for the second time as well.
The main opposition party in the parliament, Nepali Congress, has been calling for forming a parliamentary investigation committee to probe the misappropriation of funds of various cooperatives. Although the opposition parties and the ruling parties have agreed on forming the probe committee, its term of reference (TOR) is yet to be finalized.
The opposition and the ruling parties have been in consultations since the morning today to finalize the TOR, but the matter has not been sorted out as yet.
