Two minors killed by snake bite in Kailali, four others injured

Dhangadhi, Aug 24: Two girls from the same family have died due to snake bites in Kailali district.

Kailali district police chief Padma Bahadur Bista informed that daughters of Sthan Ghartimagar, Kajal (7) and Neeta (4), from Gauriganga municipality-7 Mahulia, died on Saturday afternoon.  They were sleeping on a bed on the ground floor of their house.

They were rushed to Seti Provincial Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, they passed away during treatment at the hospital.

The police also reported that 55-year-old Riju Ghartimagar, the girls’ grandmother, was injured by the snake bite and is currently receiving treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital.

Three others injured

Additionally, three more people were injured in Kailali due to snake bites on Saturday. According to the district police office, Upendra KC (13) from Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-1, Hem Bohora (14) from Gauriganga municipality-5, and Urmila Katharia (34) from Joshipur rural municipality-3 were also injured.

They are currently being treated at the Seti Provincial Hospital and Snakebite Treatment Center at Masuria in Katharia, as informed by SP Bista.#snakebite
