Hetauda, Feb 5: The Hetauda Water Supply Management Board currently produces 37 million litres of drinking water daily.
This water is supplied to around 165,000 residents of the Hetauda sub-metropolis through 28,112 taps for nine hours each day. Board Chair Pratap Bista stated that the Board has successfully extended round-the-clock water supply to the core area in the city.
So far, the management of water supply of 16 drinking water consumer committees has been handed over to the Board. In wards 11, 12, and 13 within Hetauda, water supply is still managed by the local consumer committees.
The local government provides up to 10,000 litres of water per month free of charge to each consumer, and this facility has been in place since August-September 2022. A household using up to this quantity of water monthly has been additionally benefited, it is said. According to the Board, it has also installed 15 deep tube wells across various parts of the town using its own internal sources.
In addition, the Board has expanded approximately 400 kilometres of major and auxiliary pipelines. With joint investments from the Integrated Water Supply and Sewerage Management Project, Hetauda Sub Metropolis, and the Board, several infrastructure projects have been completed, including the construction of one overhead water tank, three underground water tanks, four deep borings, and the expansion and electrification of major and auxiliary pipelines, all costing around Rs 150 million.#nepal #Water #rss
