Kathmandu, Oct 30: Flight operations across the country have been disrupted today due to Montha cyclone-led adverse weather conditions, affecting both domestic and international air services.

According to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Spokesperson Rinjee Sherpa, poor ‘in-route weather’ has forced several flight suspensions and diversions.

Domestic flights to Bharatpur and Tumlingtar have been suspended, while arrival flights to Pokhara Airport have also been halted. Only departure flights from Pokhara are currently being operated.

Sherpa said a Shree Airlines flight from Biratnagar to Kathmandu was diverted back to Biratnagar, while another Shree Airlines flight from Bhairahawa to Kathmandu was similarly diverted to Bhairahawa.

In the international sector, a Nepal Airlines aircraft bound for Kathmandu was diverted to New Delhi, India, along with an IndiGo Air flight. An Air India plane was rerouted to Lucknow due to poor visibility and unfavorable weather conditions along the flight path.

The visibility at Tribhuvan International Airport is currently around 2,500 meters, officials said, adding that deteriorating weather along flight routes continues to pose challenges for safe domestic air operations. #nepal #TIA #weather
