Kaski, Feb 11: Uzbekistan’s Black Bulls Football Club has secured a spot in the semi-finals of the 24th edition of Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup football tournament with a commanding victory over India’s Sikkim Thunderbolt North United.
In the final quarter-final match held in Pokhara today, the Black Bulls defeated Sikkim Thunderbolt North United by 3-0 to reach the semi-finals. This marks the debut of the Uzbekistan’s team in one of the Nepal’s biggest moffusil football tournaments.
The winning team scored its maiden goal in the first half followed by two goals in the second half. The team made its mark with Islomzhon Abdukodirov converting a penalty goal in the 38th minute of the match. Likewise, Simol Damlatjonov added the second goal in the 73rd minute while Balkatzone Satarov took scored the third goal just two minutes later.
The Black Bulls will now face Nepal’s Three Star Club in the semi-finals on February 13. Hosted by the Sahara Club Pokhara, the tournament features 12 teams, nine from Nepal and three international squads. The tournament that began on February 4 will conclude on February 15.
The team winning the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs 1.2 million while the runner-up will take home Rs 600,000, according to the organizers.#nepal #rss
