Action against those involved in Lalita Niwas land scam demanded

Kathmandu, Aug 29: Chief Whip of the main opposition party, CPN (UML), Padam Giri, has demanded the government to take action against those involved in Lalita Niwas land grab scam.

During a special hour of today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, he demanded to carry out investigation on all issues connected with corruption, claiming that a game is being played to escape the guilty by charging fake cases in the scam.

Chief Whip Giri pointed out the need of brining all big fishes connected with corruption and irregularities under the ambit of law. He expressed the view that people are despaired due to corruption and smuggling that would affect the promotion of good governance.

“Good governance should be promoted by improving the country’s situation. The government should be serious towards it as there is a situation where gained achievement might be lost”, he mentioned.

Drawing the attention of the government towards ongoing activities disturbing the communal harmony and inviting conflict in recent period, Giri stressed that all should be responsible in maintaining social harmony and peace.

Government’s attention drawn to control dengue

Former Finance Minister and Nepali Congress lawmaker, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, through parliament drew government’s attention to initiate effective measures to control dengue disease.

“Dengue disease has now created terror across the country. I want to draw the attention of concerned bodies to make appropriate arrangement to prevent and control the disease”, he mentioned.

He also asked the government to treat the patients having complex health condition due to dengue by making arrangement of special hospital.
Saying there are 14,264 dengue patients in Sunsari district alone, Karki stressed that the government should be serious as death toll from dengue is also increasing in the district.RSS
