Active case of coronavirus infection remain 17,000

KATHMANDU, Dec 04: The number of active cases of coronavirus infection declined by 303 on Friday.

In the last 24 hours, 1,272 persons got infected with coronavirus while number of those recovered from it stood at 1,575.

The Ministry of Health and Population informed that among the infected ones, 788 are men and 484 are women.

The latest data on recovery reached the total recovery 221,847.

Currently, the recovery rate is 92.9 percent. On Friday, the number of active coronavirus infection stood at 17,014.

In the PCR test, the infection rate is 13.5 percent. Kathmandu Valley recorded a total of 606 cases of infection on Friday.

Among them, 359 are men and 247 are women. There are 5,996 active cases in Kathmandu, 1,255 in Lalitpur and 540 in Bhaktapur now.

In the last 24 hours, the PCR test was conducted on 8,031 persons. So far, the PCR test has been conducted on more than 1.7 million people in the country.

A total of 10,394 infected persons are staying in home isolation; 328 are receiving treatment at ICU and 54 on ventilators.

The Ministry informed that 16 persons died of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
