Additional 169 deaths, 8636 confirmed COVID-19 infections



KATHMANDU: In the last 24 hours, 8,636 people have been confirmed infected with COVID-19 and 169 have died. The RT-PCR of 22,306 samples tested in laboratories across the country confirmed the infection in 8,636.

Likewise, the number of active infected has reached 117,261, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

So far, 528,848 have been tested as positive. Of them, 404,887 (76.6%) have been recovered. The total number of people died have reached 6,700.

According to the ministry, the highest number of corona cases has been reported in Kathmandu in 1863, 578 in Kaski, 427 in Lalitpur, 417 in Morang, 375 in Kailali and 328 in Kavrepalanchowk.

Similarly, 183 children under the age of 9 have been found to be infected with coronavirus, while 676 people under the age of 10 to 19 have been infected, the ministry said.
