Additional 4,762 people infected by COVID-19, 114 died in 24 hours



KATHMANDU: In the last 24 hours, an additional 4,762 people have been infected with the coronavirus across the country.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the health system carried out 15,055 RT-PCR tests and 2,425 antigen tests. A total of 114 people have died due to the COVID-19 infection and 6,491 have recovered of the infection.

As of Monday, the total number of people infected with the coronavirus in Nepal has reached 561,302. Out of which 447,446 people have been recovered from infection and 106,470 people are actively infected. The death toll from the infection has reached 7,386.

According to the Ministry, 890 COVID-19 infections have been confirmed in Kathmandu, 252/252 in Morang and Lalitpur, 220 in Dhading, 195 in Kailali and 185 in Jhapa.

Likewise, 112 children under the age of 10 have been confirmed to have COVID-19 infection while 385 people in the age group of 11 to 20 years have been infected, according to the ministry.
