Agricultural produce worth Rs 3.36 billion exported via Kakarbhitta

Bhadrapur, Nov 4: Agricultural produce worth Rs 3.36 billion was exported in the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2082/83 (2025/26) through the Plant Quarantine and Pesticide Management Centre Quarantine Office, Kakarbhitta.

According to Information Officer Chandreshwar Thakur, the major export items included cardamom, tea, plywood, veneer, ginger, and broom grass (Amliso), among others.

During this period, the highest exports were cardamom worth Rs 1.51 billion, tea worth Rs 756.6 million, plywood worth Rs 277.4 million, veneer worth Rs 272.8 million, and Amliso worth Rs 195.9 million.

Similarly, ginger worth Rs 119 million, fresh vegetables worth Rs 94.7 million, herbs worth Rs 12.4 million, and lentils worth Rs 74.1 million were also exported, according to the office.

Meanwhile, agricultural goods worth Rs 1.45 billion were imported through the same eastern border checkpoint during the same period. The main imported agricultural products included potatoes, millet, pulses, rice, fresh vegetables, fruits, garlic, maize, and livestock fodder.

Among imports, potatoes worth Rs 307.7 million, fresh fruits worth Rs 236.7 million, garlic worth Rs 179.9 million, millet worth Rs 6.2 million, rice worth Rs 4.96 million, and vegetables worth Rs 3.06 million were recorded, the quarantine office stated. #nepal #export rss
