Shankar Pokhrel

Kathmandu, Sept 3: General Secretary of the CPN UML, Shankar Pokharel, has said there was no one disagreeing on the reports to be presented in the second statute convention.

At a press conference organized by the Publicity Department of the party at party headquarters, Lalitpur, General Secretary Pokharel asserted that there was no disagreement within party on the reports- organizational, political and statute amendment- that the convention dwells on.

Although Vice Chair duo Yubraj Gyawali and Surendra Pande had some differences on the decision of the ninth central committee meeting, they too had not ideological dissent, he explained, adding that Pande and Gyawali had put forth differing views on committee’s decision that former President Bidya Devi Bhandari must not return to politics.

According to him, secretariat meeting will decide whether the statute convention or the national general convention settles the issues of differing views. Statute convention largely focuses on documents and report not on differing views.

General Secretary Pokharel is presenting the organization report, while Vice Chair Bishnu Prasad Paudel the statute amendment proposal and Chairman KP Sharma Oli the political report. The UML is all set to hold the 2nd statute convention at Godawari, Lalitpur on September 5-7. #nepal #political #rss
