Bajhang rocked with 6.3 magnitude earthquake, Houses damaged



Kathmandu, Sept 3: The strong shock of the earthquake was felt in Bajhang district today. According to the National Earthquake Measurement and Research Center, an earthquake of 6.3 magnitude occurred near the epicenter of Chainpur in Bajhang district at 3:06 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

The shock was felt in all the districts of Sudurpaschim Province. Although houses have been reported to be cracked in different places across Bajhang district, the details of the damage are yet to come.

Earlier on Tuesday at 2:40 PM, an earthquake of magnitude 5.3 occurred with its epicenter in Bajhang. Due to frequent aftershocks, the local residents are now sitting outside their houses in the open area.

It is reported that the shock of the earthquake was felt in neighboring states and even as far as Delhi in India. According to BBC, the earthquake was felt in the Delhi NCR region.
