Gorkha, March 19: Around 42-km track has been opened along the Benighat-Arughat Larke road that is being constructed to establish linkage of the district with Tibet, China.

Vehicles have started plying in 36-km section of the road.

According to Purna Chandra Dhakal of the Nepal Army’s road construction task force, vehicles now are playing on 36-KM of the 42 kilometers track opened by the Nepal Army.

The road has been dug up to Pewa of Chumnubri Rural Municipality-3 while vehicles have so far reached Pangsing. He said that vehicles could not ply on the remaining seven-kilometer stretch as the road debris has yet to be made clear.

Out of the 154 kilometers of Benighat, Arughat and Larke roads, 92-KM stretching from Hawadanda has been constructed by the Nepal Army, he shared.

Likewise, the Gorkha Road Planning Office has carried out the work in 62-KM out of the 154-km stretch from Benighat to Hawadanda.

The Department of Roads has entrusted the Nepal Army with the responsibility for carrying out the work of the section as it has big guards and hard rocks.

The NA has also handed over the section up to Dobhan to the Gorkha Road Planning Office.

Dhakal said the NA has constructed a bailey bridge at Machhikhola to ease the movement of vehicles even during the rainy season.

According to him, the Government of Nepal has allocated Rs 70 million for the construction of two kilometers of track this fiscal year.

He said that the work to be done under the allocated budget has almost been completed. #nepal #road rss
