Nuwakot, Jan 4: The best six farmers of Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts have been honoured with cash prize. They were felicitated by the ‘President’s Best Farmer Award’ program.
The Agricultural Knowledge Center Nuwakot, that oversees the two districts, honoured the three farmers selected as the best farmers from the two districts on Wednesday with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 each.
The best farmers from Nuwakot are Tilkumari Neupane, a buffalo farmer from Bidur municipality-5, Dhankumari Gurung, a goat breeder from Shivapuri Rural Municipality-1 and strawberry farmer Astlal Tamang from Kakani Rural Municipality-2.
Similarly, the best farmers from Rasuwa are Gyal Dorje Tamang, an apple farmer from Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-6 in Rasuwa, Heer Bahadur Tamang, an apple farmer and animal breeder from Uttargaya Rural Municipality-2, and Pemba Tamang, a vegetable farmer from Naukunda Rural Municipality-6.
On the occasion, Chief of Agriculture Knowledge Centre, Keshav Khanal, said the awardees could become model for other youths to do something in their own country.
Meanwhile, the best farmers selected from Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts have been recommended by Agriculture Knowledge Center for Bagmati province level best farmer awards. #Nepal
