Kathmandu, Sept 6: Business and economist journalist Bhagawat Bhattarai has been elected as the President of the Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (SEJON) securing 110 votes.
Other presidential candidates, Bishwas Regmi and Asha Thapaliya, received 92 and 41 votes respectively.
Journalist at Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) Kamal Kumar Basnet has been elected as the General Secretary of SEJON, receiving 139 votes. His rival Achyut Puri garnered 104 votes.
Similarly, Kesu Lamichhane has been elected as the Treasurer with 133 votes, while her opponent Mamata Thapa received 108 votes.
Jeevan Basnet was elected as the Vice President and Shankar Pandit as the Secretary — both unopposed.
