Bhim Acharya appointed as Chief Minister of Province 1

BIRATNAGAR: The CPN UML Secretary Bhim Acharya has been appointed as the new Chief Minister of Province-1. He has also taken oath of office and secrecy as the new Chief Minister today.

Acharya was sworn in as the Chief Minister by State Chief Somnath Adhikari Pyasi.

Acharya has been unanimously elected as the leader of the parliamentary party from the meeting of the State 1 parliamentary party held on Thursday morning. He has been selected as the leader of the party on the proposal of Sherdhan Rai, the outgoing Chief Minister.

Rai had also tendered his resignation from the Chief Minister to Somnath Pyasi today. Acharya has been sworn in as the Chief Minister in accordance with Article 168 (1) as the leader of the parliamentary party that has a majority in the state assembly.
