Bhuwan Pathak of RPP elected as Bagmati Province Speaker



Hetauda: Bagmati Province Assembly newly elected Speaker Bhuwan Kumar Pathak took an oath of office and secrecy.

He took the oath before Province Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma today in accordance with the sub-rule 8 of PA regulations-2074 BS.

He, the candidate from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, secured 62 votes in the voting held today to get elected on the post, according to PA senior most Ram Prasad Dhungana.

His competitor Shibaraj Adhikari from the Nepali Congress garnered 36 votes while Nepal Workers and Peasants’ Party (NWPP)’s Sirjana Saiju got 3.

A total of 109 members, out of 110, took part in the voting.

Province Chief Minister Shalikram Jamakattel, ministers and PA senior-most member Dhungana were among those present on the occasion.

Pathak who originally hails from Nuwakot district is now the permanent resident of Kathmandu. He holds the Master’s degree and has already served as the general secretary and spokesperson of the RPP.
