Bibaha Panchami: Wedding attendees arrive in Janakpurdham



Dhanusha, Dec 4: The wedding attendees that had set out from Ayodhya – the birthplace of Lord Shree Ram on the occasion of Ramjanaki Bibahapanchami on November 27 have arrived in Janakpurdham.

The group of attendees comprising around 500 saints entered Janakpurdham after taking rest in Matihani of Mahottari on Monday night.

Mayor of Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City, Manoj Saha officially received the attendees in the historical town.

In this course, locals standing on the both sides of the road received the attendees with floral shower by chanting slogan ‘Jaya Sitaram’.

Earlier, Matihani municipality’s Mayor Hari Prasad Mandal along with the local residents had massively welcomed the wedding attendees with musical bands.

Mahant Ram Roshan Das, the successor of Janaki Temple, urged the city denizens to participate in making the arrival of attendees grand. “In every five years, the attendees of Lord Shri Ram come to Janakpur from Ayodhya. This is a special opportunity for us to welcome the special attendees”, he added.

Mahanta Das said that all arrangements have been made for food and accommodation in Janakpurdham for four days. The group of attendees is scheduled to be taken to the Janaki Temple soon.

The tradition of attendees coming to Janakpurdham from Ayodhya dates back to 2061 BS. Janakpurdham has now turned to be festive with the grandeur weeklong celebration of Ramjanaki wedding ceremony.

According to Hindu scriptures, the wedding with Sita was confirmed after Lord Shri Ram broke the Lord Shiva’s bow into three pieces. #janakpur #nepal
