Bill to repeal some acts for economic reforms: Finance Minister Dr Wagle



Kathmandu, July 15: Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle has said that some acts are being amended and repealed based on the recommendations of the High-Level Economic Reforms Advisory Commission.

In his replies to concerns raised in regard with a proposal seeking consideration on the Bill designed to amend and repeal some Nepal Acts related to finance-2083 BS in a meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, he said during his very first day at the office, he announced that acts obstructing the way towards economic reforms would be repealed.

“The Bill has been taken forward so as to materialize the same announcement,” the Minister said, adding that the Parliament is a forum for enacting new laws and rescinding the existing ones as required.

The Bill was introduced for the same purpose, he said, adding that the government is committed to economic reforms.

Lawmakers Manju Bhusal, Krishnahari Budathoki, Nitima Bhandari ( Karki), Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, Madhav Bahadur Thapa, Sushil Khadka, Renuka Kauncha, Bidushi Rana, Narendra Kumar Kerung, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Buddhi Prasad Panta, Sajida Khatun Siddique, Hari Prasad Bhusal, Guru Prasad Baral, and Pushpa Raj Kandel took part in the discussions on the proposal.

Prior to this, the Finance Minister had tabled the proposal, seeking consideration on the Bill which was unanimously endorsed by the meeting.

Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal requested any lawmaker interested in registering an amendment (s) to the Bill to contact the Bill Section, House of Representatives (HoR).

The House of Representatives is scheduled to meet again on July 30. #nepal #rss
