Birgunj, Dec 18: The Sirsiya Dry Port Customs Office in Birgunj has collected Rs 19.78 billion in revenue during the first five months of the current fiscal year 2024/25. This accounts for 32.94% of the office’s annual revenue target only.
Customs Chief Dhan Bahadur Baruwal stated that revenue collection has declined during the five-month period. The decrease in imports of foreign goods and commodities has been a major factor affecting revenue collection.
According to the customs office, revenue collections for the first five months were as follows:
- Srawan: Rs 3.75 billion
- Bhadra: Rs 4.64 billion
- Ashwin: Rs 4.36 billion
- Kartik: Rs 3.79 billion
- Mangsir: Rs 3.22 billion (the lowest monthly collection so far)
In comparison, the customs office had collected Rs 21.04 billion during the same period in the previous fiscal year 2023/24. #nepal #custom #birgunj
