KATHMANDU: Minister of Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand and Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN (Maoist) Spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma met today.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Home Affairs, the implementation of the three-point agreement reached between the Government and the CPN (Maoist) was discussed.
On the occasion, CPN (Maoist) spokesperson Bishwakarma demanded the release of its leaders and cadres who were in jail on various charges.
Home Minister Khan has assured to take initiative to release those arrested for political reasons after completing the due process.
According to the Home Minister’s Secretariat, a discussion was held between the Government of Nepal and the Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar this evening.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dilendra Badu, Home Secretary Teknarayan Pandey and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal Netra Bikram Chand and spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma took part in the discussion.
