Cabinet expansion, new ministers take oath of office and secrecy



Kathmandu: The new ministers appointed by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ have taken oath of office and secrecy today. This is the second reshuffle of the Dahal-led cabinet.

At President Office, Sheetal Niwas, President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers along with Deputy Prime Minister Rajendra Lingden.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Lingden has been given the responsibility of the Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation along with the Deputy Prime Minister.

RPP’s senior leaders Bikram Pandey has become Urban Development Minister, Dhrub Bahadur Pradhan as Law Minister and Deepak Bahadur Singh Minister of State for Energy.

 

Similarly, Shishir Khanal has become the Minister of Education, DP Aryal as the Minister of Labor and Dr. Toshima Karki as the Minister of State for Health from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

From CPN (Maoist Centre), Rekha Sharma as Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Sudan Kiranti as Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Aman Lal Modi as Minister of Federal Affairs and General Administration and Sushila Sreepali have taken oath as Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.

Similarly, Hari Upreti as Defense Minister, Bimala Rai Paudel as Foreign Minister, Padam Giri as Health Minister, Bhagwati Chaudhary as Minister of Women and Children have taken oath from CPN (UML). Jwala Kumari Sah, who became a non-departmental minister from UML, has become the Agriculture Minister and Rajendra Rai has become the Land Management and Cooperative Minister.

On the ceremony, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Pushp Kamal Dahal and other high level officials were present in the President Office.
