Cabinet expansion to be finalized today itself: PM Dahal

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the topic of giving full shape to the Council of Ministers would be finalized today itself.

Emerging out of his meeting with CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli at his residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur, PM Dahal said the agreement to this effect was reached in that meeting this morning.

“It (cabinet expansion) would be finalized today itself. All topics related to giving full shape to the government will be finalized today alone,” PM Dahal told journalists after the meeting with UML Chair Oli.

Responding to journalists’ query regarding the election of the Speaker, Premier Dahal said, “Discussions are ongoing with the leaders of all the parties giving the vote of confidence to the government. Discussions will be held with the Nepali Congress also. Talks would be held on Tuesday as well.”

He indicated that the issue of the Speaker’s election would be finalized in the discussions tomorrow.

It is said the two leaders in their meeting today discussed on giving full shape to the Cabinet, on the election of the President and the Speaker, and on upcoming strategy and power-sharing.

The PM hinted that they were almost close to an agreement on the topic of allocation of ministerial posts among the ruling partner parties.
