Kathmandu, Dec 21: A case of contempt of court has been filed at the Supreme Court against the government for not following the order of the apex court to formulate a law related to climate change.
The case was filed by Advocate Padma Bahadur Shrestha, citing that the government has failed to formulate a law as per the order of the Supreme Court dated 25 December 2018.
A hearing on the case filed today has been scheduled for December 26.
The apex court had directed the government to formulate a separate law for mitigation and adaptation of climate change and address the impact created by it.
