Kathmandu, Oct 11: Nepal defeated Afghanistan in the match held today under the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Men’s Volleyball Challenge Cup in Sri Lanka.
Nepal defeated Afghanistan by 3-2 sets in the match held at Sugathadas Stadium in Colombo. Nepal won the first set by 25-19 but lost the second and third set by 19-25 and 22-25 respectively. However, Nepal came back to win the fourth set by 25-21 points and the fifth and decisive set by 15-10 points.
So far, Nepal has won two and lost one matches. In the first match, Nepal won against Bangladesh by 3-1 sets and in the second match lost to Sri Lanka in straight sets of 3-0.
Nepal will now play against Saudi Arabia on Friday. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan are participating in the tournament which will end on October 15.
