Change visible in citizens’ life: PM Oli

Damak, Oct 7 : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the government is committed to maintaining good governance in the country.

Addressing a greetings exchange programme organized on the occasion of Bada Dashain, Deepawali and Chhath festivals at Damak today, he said he would not be involved in any sort of corruption and would also not spare anyone involved in such practice.

Damak lies in electoral constituency 5 of Jhapa district from where PM Oli represents.

PM Oli said laws are equal for everybody and expressed the detrmination of the government to not make any compromise to end corruption and establish good governance.

Stating that change has come about in the life of the indigent population after the formatin of the present government, he said the change is palpable in the lives of the ‘have-nots’ rather than the ‘haves’.

“The feeling that there is the government for them has reached theose who are the genuine proletariat, impoverished.

Although several people are striving to practise the politics in the name of religion and caste, such tendency will only have wrong impact to society,” the Prime Minister opined, adding that some patience was required to see the impact of the change as the government was working with priority in every aspect of development including the physical infrastructure development.

Prime Minister Oli, who is also the Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has been organizing this kind of greetings exchange programme in his home district every year on the Nawami of Dashain festival.

Before this, he had organized this programme at Birtamod of Jhapa. Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula said every festival had a significant role in strengthening the goodwill and unity of the Nepali society.

Chief of State 1, Dr Govinda Tumbahang stressed on the need of celebrating the uniqueness of ebery festival while NCP province1 in-charge Bhim Acharya expressed the party’s and the government’s commtment to good governance and development.

The cultural dance of the Santhals, the indigenous community of Jhapa, was performed on the occasion.

PM Oli returned to Kathmandu today itself after attending the greetings exchange programme, the Prime Minister’s press coordinator Chetan Adhikari said.
