Chinese Foreign Department Chief pays courtesy call on PM Deuba, Dr Khadka

KATHMANDU: Visiting Foreign Department Chief of the Communist Party of China Liu Jianchao paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Sunday.

At the meeting held at the official residence of Prime Minister, Baluwatar, the two leaders held talks on bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest, according to the Secretariat of the Prime Minister.

Liu arrived in Kathmandu today morning leading an eight-member delegation. This is Liu’s maiden visit to Nepal in this role. He is in Nepal for four-day official visit.

Liu is scheduled to hold meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka today itself, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Likewise, Chinese Communist Party’s Foreign Department Chief Liu Lianchao paid a courtesy call on Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Narayan Khadka.

In the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Sunday, the two discussed on various matters of Nepal-China relations, according to the MoFA.

They also exchanged views on further enhancing bilateral cooperation and relations between the two countries, the Ministry stated. The visiting Chinese dignitary arrived in Nepal on Sunday morning leading an eight-member team.

He is on a four-day official visit to Nepal. It is his maiden visit to Nepal in this role.

Earlier the same day, Chinese Foreign Department Chief Liu paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at the latter’s official residence, Baluwatar.
