Chinese language training imparted to 60 tourism sector workers



            Kaski, Sept 9: A month-long free training session on Chinese language for workers in tourism sector has concluded here. Organised by the Union of Trekking Travels Rafting Workers Nepal, Gandaki, a total of 60 workers in tourism sector participated in the session.

            The training session which took place at a time when an influx of Chinese tourists is increasing in Nepal aimed to help workers in tourism sector with their profession and help Chinese tourists communicate easily and make their stay here easier, said Bijaya KC, president of the UNITRAV, Gandaki.

            Bipinraj Sapkota, one of those taking the training emphasised value of the session referring to difficulties that may occur for Nepali workers in tourism sector to communicate with Chinese tourists, who in general find English language difficult.

            According to available data, around 200,000 Chinese tourists visit Nepal every year, and most of them, claimed tourism entrepreneurs, reach main tourist destination, Pokhara. There are the total 12,000 tourist guides and their helpers in the country, said the UNITRAV.
