Kathmandu, May 15: The Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), Xiao Jie, arrived in Kathmandu last night.
Vice Chairman Xiao Jie is leading a 15-member Chinese delegation in the Sagarmatha Sambaad to be held in Kathmandu from May 16-18. Likewise, Mr. Yi Lianhong (Vice Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Commitee, NPC), Mr. Gao Youdong (Vice Chairman of the Supervisory and Judicial Affairs, Commitee, NPC), Tan Tianxing (Vice Chairman of the Social Development Affairs, Committee, NPC), Yu Hong (Ambassador, Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), among others have also arrived with Xiao Jie.
Minister for Forest and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri, high officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Mr Chen Song, Mr Narayankaji Shrestha from CPN Maoist Centre welcomed Vice Chairman Xia Jie at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
