Kathmandu, Aug 22: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police has submitted the investigation report to the Kathmandu District Public Prosecutor’s Office in the Lalita Niwas case.
It is said that the CIB has given an opinion to make more than two hundred people defendants in this case.
CIB’s proposed opinion is that 50 of them should be made defendants only for the purpose of land return.
District Attorney Mahesh Khatri informed that the CIB has submitted original and duplicate files along with the investigation report to the District Attorney’s office in the case of Lalita Niwas. He also said that the prosecution will proceed after studying the files.
Informing that the accused should be prosecuted within 60 days of the arrest in the Lalita Niwas land case, he said, “Since next Friday and Saturday will be a public holiday, it seems that the case should be sent to court on Sunday anyway.”
In the investigation conducted by CIB, it has been revealed that 143 ropani government lands of Lalita Niwas located in Baluwatar were registered in the name of individuals five times from 2049 to 2070 BS.
