Kathmandu, Aug 1: Gurudev Kamat, the leader of the Nepali music industry, has passed away. Kamat, who had both kidney failure, died in his birthplace Pokharbhinda, Siraha.
Gurudev Kamat was a respected name in the field of Nepali music. He is known as a singer, composer and music guru. Singer Kamat, who has practiced classical music for a long time, was suffering from multiple diseases, including kidney.
It was discovered last Chaitra 2080 BS that Gurudev Kamat had problems with both his kidneys. After facing financial crisis for treatment, he and his family returned to his native town Siraha.
Classical singer Kamat was famous in Nepal and India.
