Closed football training from next week

KATHMANDU: The closed training of the national football team of Nepal is scheduled to start in a week.

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has stated that the training will begin from July 7. Fifty players were selected for closed training in preparation for the SAAF Football Championship and the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.

National football team coach Abdullah Almutairi has announced the preliminary squad.

According to ANFA, the training scheduled for today has been postponed for a week due to technical reasons. The training will be held at ANFA Complex Satdobato. The training will be in two phases. One team will practice in the morning and the other in the afternoon.

Arpan Karki, Bikesh Kuthu, Bishal Shrestha, Bishal Sunar, Deep Karki, Kiran Kumar Limbu, Ashish Lama, Abhishek Rijal, Amit Tamang and Ananta Tamang have been selected for the closed training.

Similarly, Anjan Bista, Eric Bista, Ayush Ghalan, Bharat Khawas, Bibek Basnet, Bishal Rai, Darshan Gurung, Dinesh Rajbanshi, Dona Thapa, Gaurav Budhathoki, Gautam Shrestha, George Prince Karki, Kamal Thapa, Manish Dangi, Mikchen Tamang, Navyug Shrestha, Neeraj Basnet and Nishan Khadka have also been included for closed training.

Other players selected include Nitin Thapa, Prakash Budhathoki, Prijan Tamang, Pujan Uparkoti, Rajan Gurung, Rajin Dhimal, Rajiv Lopchan, Randeep Poudel, Rabi Paswan, Rohit Chand, Sanjok Rai, Santosh Tamang, Sesehang Angdembe, Shishir Lekhi, Sudil Rai, According to ANFA.

Likewise, Sujal Shrestha, Suman Aryal, Suman Lama, Sunil Bal, Surajjyu Thakuri, Tej Tamang and Tridev Gurung have also been included in the training.

The SAAF Championship will be held in Bangladesh from September 14 to 25 and the final selection of the Asian Cup will be held in February 2022.
