Kathmandu, June 8: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that his party will take initiatives to resolve the problems of foreign employment agencies.
At a meeting held on Saturday with the newly elected working committee of the Nepal Democratic Foreign Employment Professionals Association, which is close to the NC, President Deuba said that the NC will take initiatives to resolve the problems faced by the foreign employment professionals.
President Deuba, also the former Prime Minister, expressed his commitment that the party will also raise the issues in the parliament.
Chairman of the Association Deepak Thapa complained that recruiting agencies have serious objections to the government policy of sending 100 workers abroad every year. He asked President Deuba to take the initiative to review the policy.
Likewise, Party Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, NC’s Foreign Employment Coordination and Immigration Department Head Prakash Rasaili Snehi, NC Central Committee Member Sita Devkota, NC Central Office Chief Secretary and National Assembly Member Krishna Prasad Paudel were present in the meeting.
Earlier on Thursday, the Foreign Employment Professionals Association and various party-affiliated business associations’ representatives held a meeting with Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security DP Aryal and briefed him about the existing problems and the recommendations practicable in the field of foreign employment.
