Country records 3,108 COVID-19 cases, 25 died

KATHMANDU: In the last 24 hours, an additional 3,108 people have been infected with the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The infection was confirmed in 13,135 samples tested across the country.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 25 people have died and 1,595 have been recovered.

With the addition on Tuesday, the total number of COVID-19 infections in Nepal has reached 670,993. Of them, 9,607 have died and 634,927 have been recovered.

According to the ministry, the number of active infected cases across the country is 26,419. Out of which 23,834 are in home isolation and 2,585 are in institutional isolation. Of the corona patients, 592 are being treated in the ICUs and 172 in the ventilator across the country.

The highest number of COVID-19 infections was found in 531 in Kathmandu, 252 in Morang, 178 in Jhapa, 165 in Sunsari, 147 in Lalitpur, 126 in Kaski and 125 in Chitwan.

Similarly, 68 corona infections have been reported in Makwanpur, 61 in Nawalparasi East, 45 in Kailali, 44 in Dhading, 41 in Bhaktapur, 37 in Rupandehi, 32 in Palpa, 27 in Baglung, 23 in Dolakha and 22/22 in Kavre and Surkhet.

According to the Ministry, 71 children under the age of 10 have been infected with corona and 11 to 174 have been infected with corona.
