COVID-19: 1,330 new cases with 5 deaths in Nepal

KATHMANDU: The country has recorded 1,330 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

This was revealed in 13,622 samples tested including 9,626 through RT-PCR and 3,996 Antigen method carried out in various laboratories across the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

This takes the case load of COVID-19 in the country to 786,577 till date.

Likewise, 1,830 people recovered during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries to 754,000 with the recovery rate standing at 95.9 per cent.

Meanwhile, five people lost their lives in the past 24 hours, taking the COVID-19 death toll to 11,053. The case fatality rate is 1.4 per cent.

The number of active cases in the country is 21,524 with 20,164 of them in home isolation, 1,360 in institutional isolation. Of the infected, 335 are undergoing treatment in ICU while 107 are with ventilator support. Likewise, 250 were in various quarantine facilities, the Ministry said.

Meanwhile, 5,628,792 people have been fully vaccinated as of now while 6,230,823 have received first dose of the vaccine against the flu-like infection. Today alone 55,242 people were administered vaccine against COVID-19.
