COVID-19: 1,570 new cases, 6,146 recoveries in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU: A total of 1,570 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were confirmed through 11,365 antigen and PCR tests conducted in various laboratories during the same period, said the Ministry.

Similarly, 6,146 infected enjoyed full recovery in a day. So far, 915,489 people have been recovered from the flu-like infection. The recovery rate stands at 94.6 per cent, said the Ministry.

Likewise, 13 people succumbed to the Coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours taking the fatality caseload from deadly infection to 11,827 as of now, informed the Ministry.

Case fatality rate remains at 1.3 per cent. Currently, there are 40,111 active cases of COVID-19 in the country.

Among them, 33,883 were being treated in home isolation while 1,228 were availing treatment in institutional isolation.

The number of patients receiving treatment in ICU is 255 while 42 are in ventilator support with 137 in quarantine facilities in various parts of the country.Meanwhile, 178,579 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, shared the Ministry.
