COVID-19: 2,559 people confirmed infection, five died

KATHMANDU: In the last 24 hours, an additional 2,559 people have been confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus (COVID-19).

According to Ministry of Health and Population, of the 8,798 RT-PCR tests, 2,449 and 866 antigen tests confirmed 110 coronavirus infections. Five people have died in the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, 410 people recovered from the infection.

Currently, 14,724 people are actively infected with the coronavirus across the country. At the same time, the number of people discharged from corona infection has reached 276,755.

940 in Kathmandu Valley

In the last 24 hours, COVID-19 infection has been confirmed in 940 more people in Kathmandu Valley. In Kathmandu district, 760 people have been found infected with coronavirus, 74 in Bhaktapur and 106 in Lalitpur.

Similarly, 354 people were found infected in Banke, 221 in Rupandehi, 91 in Surkhet, 79 in Dang, 74 in Morang, 72 in Kailali, 67 in Kaski, 62 in Parsa, 39 in Bardiya, 32 in Palpa, 31 in Dhanusha and 30 in Makwanpur.

Coronavirus was confirmed in 27 cases in Chitwan, 22/22 in Kavrepalanchok and Kanchanpur, 21 in Bara, 17 in Nawalparasi West, 15 in Kapilvastu, 14/14 in Mahottari and Gulmi, 13/13 in Rautahat and Arghakhanchi, 12 in Nuwakot, 11/11 in Sunsari and Waglung.

Of those infected in the last 24 hours, 54 were children under the age of 9 and 199 were under the age of 10 to 19.
