COVID-19: 259 new cases, one died

KATHMANDU: The country has reported a total of 259 new cases of the coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

The cases were detected from 7,231 sample tests carried out in different laboratories across the country.

With this, the COVID-19 caseload in the country has reached 916,609 as of today, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

In the past 24 hours, a total of 264 people enjoyed recovery from the infection. So far, 802,653 people got recovered from the virus in Nepal since the outbreak of the virus.

At present, the number of active cases is 6,944 and of them, 6,541 are in home isolation and 403 in institutional isolation.

Likewise, 159 infected ones are receiving treatment in ICU beds while 37 others with ventilator support.

In the past 24 hours, a patient succumbed to coronavirus infection, taking the total death toll to 11,524.
