COVID-19: 2638 new cases reported, 675 died



Kathmandu: A total of 2,638 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the country in the latest 24 hours.

This includes 940 female and 1,698 male. With this, the total tally of infection has reached 117,996.

The detection was made through 13,947 RT-PCR tests carried out in various laboratories, across the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

On the Province wise, 1485 were from Province no. 1, 167 from Province no. 2, 1594 from Bagmati Province, 179 Gandaki, 113 from Lumbini, 25 from Karnali and 75 from Sudur Paschim province.

Likewise, 2,174 people recovered from the deadly virus and returned back to normal life while 12 succumbed to it in the last 24 hours.

As of today, 80,954 people have recovered while 675 have died of COVID-19 in the country.

On Wednesday, Kathmandu valley recorded a total of 1403 new cases of Corona Virus infection including 539 female and 864 male.

The country has now 36367 active cases including 21548 are in home-based isolation, 305 in ICU units and 70 with ventilator support in various hospitals.
