COVID-19: 68 people died and 6,085 infected in 24 hours



KATHMANDU: Deaths from coronavirus infection have dropped significantly in the last 24 hours. According to Ministry of Health and Population, 68 infected people have died, which is less than 25 days.

The death toll from the second wave of coronavirus infection rose to 246 on a single day on May 19. After that, the death toll dropped to 96 on May 28.

In the last 24 hours, an additional 6,085 people have been infected with the coronavirus. According to the Ministry of Health, 17,147 RT-PCR and 3,018 antigen tests were carried out accross the country.

The number of COVID-19 infected in Nepal has reached 566,587 till Tuesday. Out of which, the number of active infected is 104,789.

In the last 24 hours, 6,898 people have been vaccinated. So far, the number of those free from infection has been 454,344. The death toll from the coronavirus reached to 7,454.

According to the ministry, there are still 1,491 patients are in ICUs and 404 in ventilators across the country.
