KATHMANDU: The country records additional 2,760 COVID-19 infected in the last 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, RT-PCR tests of 7,130 people confirmed 1,857 COVID-19 infection while the antigen tests of 3,855 people confirmed infection in 903 people.
Likewise, the total number of COVID-19 infected in Nepal has reached 640,662. The number of active infected is 31,368 people.
In the last 24 hours, 4,017 people have been found recovered or discharged from COVID-19 pandemic. Thirty-three people so far have died due to coronavirus infection in this period. The total death have reached 9,145.
According to the ministry, a total of 629 people have been admitted in ICUs and 181 in ventilators for treatment across the country.
A total of 2,604,866 people have received first dose of COVID-19 vaccine while 756,602 have received second dose. The country have been facing hardship to inoculate second dose of vaccination drive, due mainly export ban of Covishield vaccine produced by India’s Serum Institute.
Meanwhile, Persatuan Kebajikan Masyarakat Janauddhar Kendra Malaysia Western Digital’s Nepalese employee and Love Penang Network in collaboration of Social Welfare Association Janauddar Kendra, Malaysia have handed over 65 BiPAP ventilators to the Government of Nepal amid a function in Kathmandu.
