COVID-19: Additional 3,449 people infected in 24 hours



KATHMANDU: Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 3,449 people across the country in 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 12,074 RT-PCR tests conducted in different districts on Wednesday confirmed coronavirus in 3,449 people.

Similarly, 4,566 antigen tests showed COVID-19 infection in 895 people. There are 80,336 active cases across the country.

Likewise, 5,768 people recovered from the virus in 24 hours, according to the ministry. Another 81 people have died due to coronavirus infection. With this the total number of people died with COVID-19 reached to 8,179.

A total of 691,494 people have received two doses of vaccine while 2,169,820 people have received first dose of vaccine.

According to the Ministry, 74,438 people are in home isolation and 5,898 people are in institutional isolation. Still, there remain 1,312 people in ICUs and 375 in ventilators across the country.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Health and Population organized a virtual interaction with Ministers from all the provinces on
prevention, treatment and control of COVID-19 pandemic.

Minister for Health and Population, Secretary and Chief Specialists from Federal government interacted with Ministers and Secretaries of Ministry of Social Development and Provincial Ministry of Health and Population, Provincial Chief Secretaries, Directors from Provincial Health Directorates, Chief of Provincial Health Logistic Management
Centers and other high-level dignitaries.
