COVID-19: Country records 2,295 more cases; 16 deaths

KATHMANDU: Country has recorded altogether 2,295 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours.

With this, total number of corornavirus has reached 844,488 so far. Such number of new coronavirus cases was detected in course of conducting 16,233 tests including 11,892 RT-PCR tests and 4,341 antigen tests.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 1,808 people have recovered from the COVID-19 during the same period. With this, the number of recovered people has reached 714,520 as of today.

The recovery rate in Nepal is 93.9 per cent.

Similarly, 16 more people succumbed to COVID-19 in last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 10,730 so far.

The fatality rate is 1.5 per cent. There are 35, 874 active coronavirus cases in the country.

A total of 538 coronavirus infected people are undergoing treatment at ICU facilities while 160 others are in ventilator support, according to the Ministry.

Likewise, a total of 33,333 people are in home isolation while 2,541 others are on institutional isolation and 338 on quarantine facilities.
