KATHMANDU: A record 11,352 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the past 24 hours in the country.
The new infections were revealed in 23,409 samples tested, including 18,087 through RT-PCR and 5,331 through antigen tests. Of them, 9,502 were confirmed through PCR and 1,850 through antigen test.
The average infection rate today is 52.6 per cent. Kathmandu valley alone recorded 6,343 new cases of COVID-19 with 4,666 in Kathmandu, 1,019 in Lalitpur and 587 in Bhaktapur.
This takes the total number of infections to 877,717 through PCR method and 105,833 through antigen method, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
The number of active cases of COVID-19 in the country has climbed to 47,929.
Also today, 613 infected recovered while four persons died of COVID-19.
The total number of recoveries as of today is 818,160 while the death toll climbs to 11,628.
Meanwhile, 195,432 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in the country today.
